Case study on AI logo redesign

Complexity type: DETAILED

Ai generated logo - bad example

This case study explores how a rough AI logo design can be transformed into a professional brand asset. By identifying common AI logo mistakes and rebuilding the design as a clean vector logo, we create a final result that is more consistent, more usable, and better suited for real-world branding.

All the flaws in a logo created by AI

At this level, AI-generated logos often become overly complex. A common mistake is trying to communicate too many ideas at once. In this case, multiple symbols were competing within a single design — leaf, pulse, sun, house, and human figures — resulting in a cluttered and confusing visual identity. The goal was to simplify and bring clarity while preserving the core concept.

  1. This arc should align with the outer curve of the lower vine element, but it is slightly misaligned, breaking the visual flow and geometric consistency.

  2. The pulse line does not need to be symmetrical unless it is the primary or only element. In this composition, it adds unnecessary complexity and contributes to the overall imbalance rather than enhancing the design.

  3. The logo is visually unbalanced from left to right. The leaf motif pulls the composition downward, while the heavier mass on the right side draws the eye in the opposite direction. Instead of balancing each other out, these opposing forces compound the imbalance.

  4. Color usage in logo design should support visual storytelling and guide the viewer’s eye. Here, the green and yellow colors alternate randomly, without a clear system or intention, which weakens the overall user experience and brand clarity.

  5. The sun rays extending below ground level have no logical or symbolic purpose and create confusion within the composition.

  6. Wavy shapes tend to suggest instability or drift. While this can be useful in specific contexts, in most logo designs it should be avoided unless it clearly supports the concept.

Final Result

In the refined version, both sides of the logo were constructed using similar circular elements of comparable size, creating a balanced composition where the left and right sides visually counteract each other.

Perfect symmetry was intentionally avoided, as solid shapes appear optically larger than more open forms. Accounting for these visual illusions is a key part of professional logo design and ensures a more natural and harmonious result.

The two main elements now function like a balanced weight, while the connecting pulse symbol is positioned to remain noticeable without becoming dominant. It supports the overall composition while staying slightly in the background, preserving visual harmony and clarity.
